To ring in the new year we have decided to start a blog about our crazy adventures.
December
First I would like to catch everyone up on our December. We journeyed to NYC on our annual December NYC Shopping Trip. It was especially special this time because this was Brent’s first time in the Big Apple. We rode the bus up all night, arriving at the Macy’s in NYC at 7:30am. Throughout the day we enjoyed all the sights:

I really enjoyed spending this time with Brent and my family. Brent and I are very excited about the heading up to New York sometime again, hopefully when it is a little bit warmer!
Our Holiday
We had a wonderful holiday with both the Rhodes and the Hales. Mom and Dad Hale flew in on the 22nd and stayed with us until the 27th. Over the holidays we did some fun things:
- Brent and I went out to eat lunch with Mom and Dad Hale, then we gave them a tour of my work
- We went to the Williamsburg Outlets and the Yankee Candle Shoppe
- Enjoyed our Annual Christmas Adam Party on 12/23 (Adam came before Eve, hence Christmas Adam)
- Had an amazing Christmas morning, complete with a delicious fried turkey dinner.
Christmas Adam Surprises
Surprise #1
During Christmas Adam this year, we surprised Dad Rhodes for his present for this year by reenacting the “Major Award” scene from A Christmas Story. Brent, Jared, and Macy made the box and Kia did the stenciling. He had no idea it was coming…we finally surprised Dad!

Thank you to Karen and Kenny for letting us work in their garage, and basically for just being cool.
Surprise #2
This year we also started a new tradition called Seductive Sam. Let me start with the story: One day Brent, Kia, Macy, Jared, and I were out shopping, looking for some fabulous Christmas presents to buy our Mom, when we happened upon a very seductive looking inflatable snowman in Garden Ridge. All we could think was, who else would be better to have this wonderful piece of Christmas art but the Gholsons? So, we bought it, and planned to secretly place it in their yard while they were away. So, since they knew about our plan to surprise Dad, and Dad knew about our plan to Seductive Sam the Gholsons, we decided that Christmas Adam would be the perfect time to get everyone. When Jared and Brent left the party, Kenny and Karen thought they were going to get Dad’s present, which they were, and Dad thought they were going to Seductive Sam, which they were. How brilliant are we? We completely surprised them both! Now we just have to prepare for K&K’s payback. I have a feeling it might have something to do with hot pink flamingos. Anyways, here is a picture of Kenny with his new BFF, Sam:
